PC or Mac?

Dear Readers,

Thanks you for your loyalty. Now I need your studied opinion. I am considering buying a new laptop, as my current device is 4.5 years old. Some of you are avid Mac fans, perhaps others prefer PCs. Which should I buy, and why? Tell me your glory and sweat and blood stories, please....lol. Don't just say: "buy a...." and period.
I'll post more new pics soon. So don't go away too long....

your Euromark in Leipzig.

As you know I have been partial to Macs for about 6 years now. They are generally a more stable machine than the PC (rarely crash, not prone to viruses, etc). Re: viruses, I'm sure eventually people will start writing viruses for the mac, but up to now no one is really bothering to do so. Graphics are far superior on macs also. If you go this way, be sure to get the glossy screen.

Macbook Pro vs. Macbook - Pro gives you a faster processor generally, larger hard drives, more RAM, but the extra money is quite a bit. One main thing to consider, I think, is do you need card slots on the side? Most people do not. Only the Pro gives you this option. You might use this if you want Mobile wireless with a cellular company. They would give you a card that you would insert into this slot.

Another thing to consider when moving from PC to Mac is software. Little is compatible between the two. Unless you are going to partition your drive and load Windows on the new Intel in the Macs, you will have to buy new software, such as Microsoft Office with Word, Excel, etc. So it is quite a change if you make it.

If you buy Mac. Definitely get the Apple Care Protection Plan. 3 years phone support. AND if your computer breaks they will send you a complete new one (likely an upgrade from what you have) if they cannot fix it.

Holler if you have more questions.

Well, I'm afraid I won't be much help here. I'm a PC girl but it's more because I have had PCs for many years and have just got very used to them. Macs tend to drive me a bit crazy, but I'm sure it's mainly because I'm less used to them.

My new laptop that I bought a few months ago is a HP and I'm absolutely in love with it. It is quite possibly the sexiest computer alive.

It is a tool. You have to consider what you are comfortable using. Also you need to consider what software you will be using. Does it run on the computer you want? I think Macs are better than PCs these days, everything else being equal.
