Above is a monument to Bach near the St. Thomas Church, and below is the interior of the St. Thomas Church, where Johann Sebastian Bach was Choir Master of the St. Thomas Boys' Choir for the last 27 years of his life.
Every year the Internation J.S. Bach Competition for Violin, Harpsicord, and Cello takes place in Leipzig. This Saturday the Winner will perform, and I plan to sit in the audience. Here is more info about the Bach Archives in Leipzig and the competition. Here, when you attend a Bach concert, they perform with a vitality to make you think the work is being premíèred today. Jedes Jahr findet das Internationale J.S. Bach Wettbewerb für Violine, Cembalo, und Cello in Leipzig statt. Am kommenden Samstag tritt der Preisträger mit dem Neuen Bachischen Kollegium Leipzig auf, und ich habe vor, im Publikum zu sitzen. Kommst du mit?
